“I joined Snehadhara about 5 years ago. I had been sick and out of work for 8 long months before that. I got better and immediately needed to get back to working. You see, I’m the only working member in my family. I asked my neighbourhood friend to help me along and she was the one who introduced me to Snehadhara. I had worked with children before – little ones as young as 6 months old to 6-7 year olds full of energy and life that made me chase after them! I started out temporarily in Snehadhara only to find myself in a whole different world. A nice world… Different children, beautiful and full of the vibrancy of life. I stepped into the door and within fortnight, I was in all the way. I knew my heart was here.”
“Snehadhara has changed in many ways. We used to be in classrooms as much as we used outside but the most striking thing was things kept happening; never stopped. And I learnt, and as I learnt, I enjoyed more. People came and went, children came and went. I remember all their names, their faces and voices. They will stay with me in my heart always. I believe in my work. I work hard, I do what I have to and what I need to. I believe that even if you have days where you don’t believe, you have to do your job. It will all work out one day. I persevere with Snehadhara. Snehadhara has to move forward with our children. I hope that we can reach more people and can continue to do this for a long time. I have my own goals too. I have given and will give my all to this place till I can. And when it’s time, I will return to my hometown with all these precious memories.”
