Welcome to our blog, where we invite you to join us on a journey of exploration, discovery, and celebration as we roll into the new year at Snehadhara’s Direct Care. Our Nelamangala campus has been abuzz with the vibrant energy of learning and growth, fueled by our commitment to nurturing minds and cultivating hearts. Join us as we reflect on the past and look forward to the adventures that lie ahead with a shared spirit of inclusivity and compassion.
As we look back on the first two weeks of the new academic year at Snehadhara’s Nelamangala campus, it has been an exhilarating journey filled with a myriad of learning adventures. Under the wing of our new home sciences curriculum, the journey began on an inspiring note, setting the tone for the weeks ahead. As often expressed by thinkers and professionals, in embracing the wonders of home sciences, we not only nurture minds but also cultivate hearts, fostering a community where every individual’s unique talents and abilities are celebrated and valued.
On campus, this took many forms. From the kitchen to the garden, every corner of our campus resonated with the buzz of exploration and discovery. Our budding culinary enthusiasts immersed themselves in the fascinating world of food science, exploring food qualities and groups. Simultaneously, the garden became a hub of activity as we delved into the wonders of plants, from seed to stem, getting our hands immersed in the process of nurturing life.
A sense of responsibility and community was palpable in our meal preparation activities, energizing us to share our love of learning by doing with each other. Just as we nourished our minds with knowledge, we also nourished our bodies with activity, walks, exercise and more, fostering a state of holistic well-being.
But the excitement did not stop there. Our Ugadi celebrations were a highlight of the past weeks, filled with love, laughter, and meaningful moments. The joy on the children’s faces as they crafted beautiful pieces of toran was truly heartening. Following this, we embarked on a visit to the nearby Omashram Trust old age home, where we recently began an engagement with its residents through the Arts Practices for Inclusion (API) program. Our children brought smiles to the faces of the residents as they interacted with them, shared stories, and participated in shared activities, spreading warmth and love.
Of course, what’s Ugadi without a few traditions? We wrapped up our day by making a refreshing drink using neem and jaggery, symbolizing the balance of bitter and sweet experiences, and welcoming the new year with open arms. In doing so, we celebrated not only Ugadi but also the spirit of togetherness, compassion, and inclusivity.
As we look back on the past two weeks, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunities to learn, grow, and celebrate together. Here’s to more adventures in the weeks to come, as we continue to nurture and empower our children to explore, discover, and thrive.
