Houseful – of Joy and Artistic Adventures

Devanathan is our first Houseful artist for 2020-2021. Given the times that surround us we felt it would be wonderful to present a someone who tells us in his unique ways that age is just a number when it comes to learning. His hours of practice each day is a reminder for us to hang in there and continue pursuing our dreams. He has been a part of Snehadhara’s journey from its inception and continues to support the work we do.

An Electronics Design Engineer by profession, Devanathan is the son of the late.Smt. Sakunthala Rengachari, a well-recognised vocal artist with the All India Radio. Music and he go hand in hand. With a keen interest to learn Violin during the working days in Mumbai he would make his trips during the after-office hours to Shanmukhananda Hall to learn the Violin. His professional commitments did not allow him to pursue his passion as he would have liked it. But the 72-year-old young Devanathan has got back to this after a gap of nearly 40 years. He has now started swimming in the ocean of music, he says as it gives him a lot of mental solace. He hopes to continue this for all long as he can.
