Vinati is our research unit where we analyze data by a triangulation of assessment & evaluation gathered from qualitative & quantitative analysis of observation formats, standardized tests, ABT tools and API tools.

‘Vinati’, which means to seek/request, is the research unit at the foundation. Through this, we examine and question our current practices, understand and build new methodologies in art based therapy, improvise content and set best practices. At Snehadhara, we are constantly looking for opportunities to evolve our work, and research provides us for a sound basis to do so.

Our research work started with our ABT trainees and practitioners working with the children, with an aim to understand the population better. Our ongoing research includes work with different marginalised populations by our Arts Practices for Inclusion course participants, and research projects undertaken with our children and their families at the Nelamangala campus.

At the centre, facilitators constantly document and collect data during their sessions with the children. The notes and findings from these sessions are further analysed by triangulation of assessment and evaluation gathered from qualitative and quantitative analysis of observation formats, standardised tests and ABT and API tools. Data is also collected from parents about their experiences and the home lives of the children to occupy a holistic approach to research.

Current Research

The following is the research done by our facilitators pertaining to the children at the Nelamangala campus to understand the merit in our semi-residential setup and how it impacts the overall growth and development of the child. True to the essence of community living, the setup is such that research integrates facilitators, support team members, and families of the children into the process.
